Background & composition

The Background section decides what your design sits on.

Solid color (free)

By default the design sits on a plain background color (a soft off-white to start). Pick any color you like — great for clean, catalog-style clips.

Fabric textures (Pro)

Choose from a built-in library of fabric backgrounds so the design looks like it's stitched onto real material:

Denim (mid), Denim (light), Navy, Heather (light), Heather (dark), Cream, Beige, Blush, Sage and Black.

Your own image (Pro)

Load your own photo or mockup — a T-shirt, a tote bag, a hoop, wood, or any product shot — and the design is placed on top of it. The image is fitted to the chosen format.

Transparent background (Pro)

Turn the background off entirely to export with a transparent (alpha) channel, so you can drop the animation onto anything in a video editor. Transparent export uses a MOV file — see Exporting.

Place the motif (Pro)

Composition lets you scale and reposition the design within the frame — perfect for lining it up with a mockup (for example placing the motif on the chest of a T-shirt). On the free tier the design stays centered at its default size.
